SHINY LESSON

Hi everyone!

Today We had “Language and Identity” with Karen Aaroe, She was a really nice teacher, I enjoyed a lot the lesson, we started the lesson speaking about us and what means colors for us.

One color can symbolize a lot of things, all depends the people who are thinking about it.

This activity consists to draw a figure of you, and paint it with different colors, but these colors should mean something to you, something about your life. Then show it to your friends and explain them, why you choose this color and what it means for you.

I think that this activity is very interesting and really appropriates for erasmus students and children, because we can speak English, that it the first objective, and at the same time we can learn about other cultures and countries.

It is a way for respect the others, their cultures and their languages. This activity permits us to know more about our Erasmusmeets, because it shows the impressions of the people, personal feelings and emotions. And one of the most important thing is that this activity is funny, maybe for children, and you can have a good time with your friends and learn small and interesting things about them, for instance: favorites colors, fears, happy things, expectations and priorities.

This activity shows us that the true have different ways, it isn’t always black or white, and there are a lot of ways to see the things. I can connect this experience with my problem of the last week; there isn’t a place better than other, only you need to adapt yourself there. And you can enjoy like I’m doing now.

But the true never can’t be gray, because when we finish this activity we said what means some colors and we arrive to the conclusion that the color grey is something boring, depressed and disappointed, and now I know that when I thought that everything is dark I need to look for another point of view, because the sunlight is always shinning.

THIS IS MY PICTURE

I drew Valencia’s flag in one arm, because one half of me bellows to Valencia, but it bellows to a part of Spain and the other arm I drew Spain’s Flag, because I’m from Spain, like most of you know.

In my right hand I drew an England’s flag, because I like English language, and someday I will teach it.

In my face, I drew USA´s flag and Spanish flag in my mind, because I prefer USA´s English but I will teach England English because it is more formal than the other. And I drew Spain’s flag in the other part of my mind, because it is my mother language.

The same happen with my ears, because I like listen both. In my mouth, I drew the sun, because I love sunny places, and I always miss it when I far from it.

In my eyes and my legs I drew the world, because I like visit, and travel around the world, I think that is very important travel around the world, because you can meet new people and know about other cultures, and it is the future.

I also drew two interrogation signs with Italia’s flag, because I love this language, and I want to learn it someday.

Finally, in the centre of my picture there is a Spanish heart, because it is the place where I born.
